accalia

Tony laughs "If that's what you want to answer. It's not the smartest answer i've ever heard, but at this point there isn't ans answer that doesn't have some sort of negative side."

yamikuronue

He flinches. "I just want.... " to do the right thing. To make you proud. He shakes his head. "Nevermind. It's fine. Whichever you think is best."

accalia

Tony frowns for a moment before replying "this isn't my decision to make." he states, there is no tonality to the statement, no approval nor censure.  "this is your choice to make. How do you want to handle this?"

yamikuronue

Vic takes a step back, pressing against the wall. "I don't know," he moans, frustration evident. "Can't you just tell me the right answer?"

accalia

"I can't, because the right answer for me is not the right answer for you." Tony says sadly. the kid's not quite ready for this responsibility, but he has to make the decision anyway.

yamikuronue

Vic groans, burying his face in his hands.

"I just want this to go away," he whimpers.

accalia

"I know, but you know it won't." Tony replies kindly.

yamikuronue

"Why can't I ever seem to do the right thing? It's like no matter what I do, it's wrong. Be a boy, that's wrong. Be a girl, that's wrong too. Driving a car. Not driving the car. Taking the job, not taking the job. It's all wrong."

accalia

"You did pretty well with the driving, better than most first timers i've taught." Tony comments "Driving is hard, and you did very well."

yamikuronue

"Thanks," he says, bitterly.

accalia

"You're welcome. You'll do better next time too. Now for the whole boy/girl thing. It's not about what's right to anyone else, if that was the case i'd be wearing a dress right now, it's about what's right for you. and it's up to you to decide what you want. And you don't have to always answer the same way" Tony says, offering support by his words.

yamikuronue

"But they're both wrong," he points out. "If I say I'm a boy, I'm lying to everyone all the time. If I try to be a girl... Well, that's bad." he concludes, lamely, with a faint blush as he avoids looking at Tony.

accalia

"Well, that's certasinly something that won't be quickly answered one way or the other. But what about the job? You can't do it the way he wanted, but I think you can do it if you go about it a different way, Or you can decide you don't want to do it and we try to escape from this place with our skin, and dignity as intact as possible. Your call there. which answer is... least wrong?

yamikuronue

Vic hesitates. "If I say yes, and I get it done, he'll trust me. He'll make me his daughter's bodyguard. I'll work my way up the ranks. I'll be in." A month ago, that was everything I wanted...

"If I say no... I might be out. Forever." Yesterday, that was what I wanted.

accalia

"Both are true. And the choice is yours. Either way I will back you up." Tony says, keenly aware that they're almost out of time.
