The Family [Finished]

"You are yourself." Tony replies with a shrug. yeah, he really has a simple world view.

[yamikuronue]

Vic groans, his shoulders slumping. "Forget it," he mumbles, turning to leave the room .

[accalia]

Tony doesn't reply to that, nor try to stop Vic, but he sure as heck looks confused. the question "what the heck was that about" unsaid but written plain on his face.

[yamikuronue]

Vic storms up to his room, throwing himself dramatically on the bed. Who did he think he was, being so vague and... and confusing! How was Vic supposed to act if he didn't know what was expected of him! It was the biggest difference in the world, the way adults treated kids vs how they treated each other. If Tony couldn't even see that then... then...

And what's with all the tears anyway?! Stupid body.

That evening, when Tony comes up to get Vic for work, he's not there; however, he turns up at work right on time, so he's clearly not run off or done anything dangerous. When it comes time for food, he decides to take the initiative: chewing his lip, nervous as hell, he makes his way to Bear's desk.

"You can't be looking for more icecream already." Bear groans theatrically as Vic approaches "I still have the headache from last time."

[yamikuronue]

Vic shuffles his feet, chewing his lower lip. "We don't have to go out," he mumbles, embarassed.

[accalia]

Bear shrugs "It's no fun teasing you if you don't play along. What do you say about getting burgers this time?"

[yamikuronue]

He perks up a bit. "Yeah, okay. Burgers are good."

[accalia]

"Let me finish this report real quick and we'll head out. Get the car warming up will you?" Bear tosses his keys at Vic as he says that.

[yamikuronue]

Vic takes the keys, looking like a deer in the headlights. "Uhhhh... I can't drive yet."

[accalia]

"Tony's teaching you , yes? he wouldn't do that if he didn't trust you." is Bear's only response waving at Vic to get on with it.

[yamikuronue]

Vic blushes. "I... I guess so." He ducks his head, heading for the door.

[accalia]

A couple of minutes later see Bear sliding into the passenger side of his car. "Ready?"

[yamikuronue]

Vic starts, having expected to get back out of the car. "Uh. I. I really can't. Uh. Really?"
