The Family [Finished]

[accalia]

"At the time, yes. Now? Not so much."

[yamikuronue]

"No? What would you call her now?" she teases.

[accalia]

Tony shrugs, not so much refusing to answer the question as admitting that he doesn't have the right word for this situation.

[yamikuronue]

"How about girlfriend?" she suggests, her tone more gentle.

[accalia]

Another shrug followed by a nod. That word will do for now. At least until he works up the courage to tell Kate about the other gift he prepared.

[yamikuronue]

"Tony?" She keeps the gentle tone, turning to look at him directly. He's not speaking -- did she spook him?

[accalia]

"Hmm? Yes?" Tony asks, somewhat confused. Did he do something wrong?

[yamikuronue]

She smiles, relieved. "You got quiet, just checking if you're okay."

[accalia]

"Oh, sorry. Just thinking." Tony says as a small blush colors his face. He is so terrible at this.... he's used to pretty much exclusively talking to himself so most of the conversation tended to be non verbal.

[yamikuronue]

"You two are dorks," says Vic, firmly.

[accalia]

Tony smiles impishly "I believe the current idiom is: It takes one to know one."

[yamikuronue]

Half an hour later, as they're tidying up the dishes from breakfast, there's a knock on the door; Vic goes to grab it, as Tony's hands are covered in soapy water, but he doesn't come back right away. A few moments later, he shuffles his way into the kitchen, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Uh... I haven't cleaned out my closet but apparently my new clothes are here... where should I put them?"

Kate's eyes light up. "New clothes?"

[accalia]

Tony sighs 'Kate, can you help him figure things out? there should be boxes somewhere you can shove my old clothes into to make room."

[yamikuronue]

Vic's eyes widen in alarm. "Uh-- maybe not?" he squeaks.

[accalia]

That got an eyeroll and a shrug from Tony "Suit yourself then. but I'm not going to be able to help, not until after i finish the cleanup."
