Vic nods. "...Thanks, though."

"Your welcome." Tony says as he looks around "Now where did i put my pen this time?"

yamikuronue

The morning of the wedding dawns overcast -- a bad sign for the bride and groom, perhaps. Kate had promised to pick him up at noon, giving him the maximum time possible to sleep in. Vic had parked at the front window like he was on guard duty for a speakeasy, hoping to give Tony some warning so he's not caught off guard as he was before.

When her Chevy pulls up, he gives a whistle -- a signal whistle, to be specific, and entirely unnecessary with Tony in the same room. Then he stammers out, "Uh, oh crap, you're screwed."

accalia

Tony for his part was struggling to get the tux settled comfortably on his frame. He looked pretty good in the tux, but it was pretty obvious that he was not comfortable in the slightest. "Screwed?" He asks, tugging on his shirt trying to get his jibline straight.

yamikuronue

"Totally screwed."

The knock comes on the door, and Vic jumps up to let her in. The woman who stands at the door has chestnut hair in a neat bob, just like Kate, but instead of blues or a demure skirt, she wears... wow. The dress hugs her body, accentuating the curves she has to give her a more womanly figure. It is covered in tiny green and black sequins, in a pattern that suggests peacock feathers; the solid portion of the dress gives way just at her crotch level, dissolving into a  long fringe of black beads that suggests feathers more strongly. He can't see anything obscene, of course; there is fabric under the beads, but it fools the eye into thinking he might catch a glimpse of something untowed, every step rustling the fringe ever so slightly to catch the eye. The whole thing aborts at a scandalous knee length, showing off her shapely, toned legs, seeming smooth as silk. On her head she wears a small feathered fascinator, complimenting the outfit; as a small token toward modesty, she wears a shawl over her otherwise bare arms. So much skin, and yet, technically, she is dressed decently for an occasion.

Who knew Kate was secretly a flapper?

Tony smiles at Kate's appearence, tweaking the fit of his tuxedo one last time. "You know, before you arrived I thought I was overdressed, Now I see I am in fact shamefully underdressed for the occasion. Are you sure you could bear to be seen in public with me in such a sorry state?"

yamikuronue

Kate grins. "We could switch, if you like."

accalia

Okay, Tony had looked floored before when Kate set up the date, now he looks like he just got hit by a truck. "Uh... No, I don't think it would be wise. I don't think you want me run out of town on a rail for attending a wedding in drag."

Good cover Tony, good cover.... if you were trying to hide from literally anyone else, Kate is too damn sharp for that to work.

yamikuronue

"I think you'd make a lovely drag queen," she remarks, studying him critically. "You have great cheekbones for it."

Vic coughs. "Uh, shouldn't you guys be going soon or something?"

accalia

Tony doesn't seem to have noticed Vic's comment as he replies to Kate "I'll keep that in mind, It will be handy if I ever decide to get into show business."

yamikuronue

"You let me know, I have connections," she teases, moving to slip her arm around his. "Shall we?"

accalia

"Let us, It would be a shame to disappoint the bride by being late to the ceremony."

yamikuronue

Kate leads the way to her car, climbing into the driver's seat without even asking. She drives well; she likes to go a bit faster than the speed limit, but she drives like an expert so it ends up being fine.

"So, when was the last time you got dragged to an event like this," she asks, after a few blocks.

accalia

Tony seems content to be a passenger and takes a moment to answer. "Well, assuming the ceremony's taking place at the church.... Last time I attended services would have been the funeral service for my mother." Tony says; a small, well hidden, hint of pain at the memory "That was about..... twenty years ago now."

yamikuronue

She whistles, impressed. "Could be worse. At least I won't have to sit through a conversion speech from you for going to the wrong church. I had a date once that was a Mormon -- I could never get a word in edgewise."
