The Family [Finished]

"I was only gone twelve hours." Tony says is a 'i'm not mad' voice "You didn't eat all the food in the house that quickly did you? I know you're growing, but.... not that fast."

[yamikuronue]

"No, I didn't," he protests. "I just... had meant to make breakfast before you got back."

[accalia]

Tony grins, sometimes Vic's too easy to tease. "Well, okay. I'll take a shower too. that should give you time to get something together and we'll pretend it was ready for when i got home."

[yamikuronue]

"Yeah, okay." he says, heading for the kitchen.

Tony smiles and moves into the living room and starts shucking the tux. damn that suit's uncomfortable. Once he's down to his underwear he notes with surprise that he.... isn't wearing the same underwear he had been wearing when he left the house.... Uh oh...

Tony quickly moves to the bathroom to take a shower, hopefully tony hadn't been sneaking a peek, or if he had that he hadn't noticed the.... pinkness.... Tony blushes fiercely, remembering the night.

When he gets out, Vic has somehow made pancakes. Or rather, tried to make pancakes. One is a pale, sickly color, and the other is burnt. He hands Tony a plate. "Sorry," he says, shoulders hunched.

Tony sits down  and looks at the pancakes critically "well, they're better than I would have been able to manage" He admits. Yep. he's a bachelor.

Vic smiles sheepishly. "I kinda figured if i gave you the most overcooked and the most undercooked it'd kind of even out?"

[accalia]

"The law of the averages, eh? That could work." Tony comments, digging in

Vic takes his own plate -- not in any better shape -- and sits, tucking in as well. The pancakes are... not quite right, but edible.

Tony eats quickly, polishing the plate clean without comment. He was right, that was better than his usual attempts..... there's a reason he eats out so much.

After breakfast, Vic rapidly makes an excuse to head to bed; he's been up all night waiting for Tony, and as such, requires sleep before the evening's work. Soon enough, however, a yawning Vic and his new best friend make their way into the office, where hopefully coffee awaits.

There is coffee, two steaming mugs and a large carafe sitting on Tony's desk, next to a very large pile of paperwork. There's a note on the paper work in Kate's hand reading "No excuses!"

Tony grabs one of the mugs gratefully and smiles as he sips at the dark black liquid.

Kate is nothing if not professional during the evening; it seems she's quite good at segmenting her relationship from her job duties. But she smiles at him a little more than usual, perhaps.

When it comes time to wrap up for the evening, she and Vic both turn up at Tony's office. Kate goes first, as Vic takes a step back: "Do you want to get an ice cream with me?"

Tony thinks for a moment before shaking his head sadly "I think i have to pass, I'm not done with the paperwork and i want to catch up. Vic, you can go if you want while i try to finish the backlog."

Tony seems genuinely sad to have to say no to the offer, but.... the paperwork didnt stop accumulating while Tony was out on medical.
